Outlook 2007 (not responding)

When I first open Outlook 2007 it works fine but as it gets used it continues
to slow down and I get (not responding) whenever I try to do anything. If I
close it down and restart it, then it works fine again for a while. Can
anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?

Does this happen even if you start Outlook in Safe Mode? (hold down CTRL
