Recently added a new 'live.com' e-mail address to Outlook 2007 and all
testing went well...the new e-mail address shows under the data management
e-mail tab however it is not showing in the folder list to the left as the
others do...

Have restarted Outlook several times...

(Windows XP SP3 - IE8 - AMD Sempron - 3400 - 4GB RAM)

Outlook uses a single set of default folders (eg Inbox/Sent etc) unless you
have configured outlook to use seperate data files for each mail account

What type of account did you define for your Live Mail?

It is showinig that it is configured as POP/SMTP...

By the way...notifications of replies are not working...

Then why did all of my other 'hotmail.com' and 'msn.com' e-mail addresses
create their own separate set of folders...

Because niether are pop mail

OK...I see that now...DUH

Just curious though...why did the others register themselves as 'MAPI' and
'live.com' registered as 'POP'...aren't they all coming from MSN...

I dont use either so cannot tell you, certain mail providers have to option
to set up an account as either pop or Imap
eg gmail can be configured for either type of account

It is showinig that it is configured as POP/SMTP...

Unless you take specific steps otherwise, all POP accounts you configure feed
into the same Inbox, as DL says, and if you've configured Outlook to produce a
New Mail notification, Outlook will do it no matter which POP account
downloads the message. If you've configured the POP account in a standard
fashion, there won't be a separate data file in the Account Settings and, if
there is, it won't have a name that matches the email address.
