Yes, however the integration will not work. I.e., you will not get themes to work, mail merges and send to will not work.
Academic versions are sold by Universities and other qualifying higher academic institutions and are usually the full professional version with a restrictive license. Home and Student editions can be purchased at retail but are restricted to non-commercial use.
