I've been using Outlook 2007 for a few months. All is good with
everything except if I create a new message and click To: the box that
pops up is totally blank. If I type a name in the Search field, I get
a popup box that says "The search cannot be completed. You must have
an address list to search in. If you don't have a search list, contact
your Microsoft Exchange Administrator". I'm not running on MS
Exchange. It should be just a standard pop3 account. For some reason
its set up like an IMAPI account. What do I need to fix so I can
display addresses in the To: field?

TIA

Thanks for the help Russ. I don't believe I even saw anything about an
Outlook Address Book Service. I will check the link and post back if I
was successful or not. Thanks!

I am following the instructions for Outlook 2007. It says if the
address book is listed to close and go to Step 2. Step 2 says to
select properties for your folder name and on the Outlook Address Book
tab, click to select "Show this folder as an e-mail address book"
check box. That whole sections is disabled. I can't select it. What
are my options now?

Russ, I got it figured out! After 6 months of not being able to select
my addressees from the "To" button you pointed me in the right
direction. Basically I decided to start all over again. I deleted all
my accounts and recreated them. Before I did that I backed up my
Outlook.pst file and deleted what was in the User folder. Outlook
forced me to create or look for an Outlook.pst file so I navigated to
the backup. All is good now.

Thank you so much for leading me in the right direction.

You migrated your data incorrectly and have a corrupt profile. Start over
with a new profile.

Thanks Russ and that is exactly what I did. I created a new profile
and it works just fine. Thanks for showing me the right direction to
go.

Glad it worked.
