Today something strange happened to my outlook icons, meaning the
icons in the menu bars in outlook. The icons are all washed out like
they are in 16 color or something. I can't figure out for the life of
me how it happened or how to fix it.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64bit and Office 2007 Pro

I routinely use outlook through a Terminal Services RDP connection.
But this is the first time this has happened so it's hard to tie it to
that. At first I thought my RDP client was just messing up. But now
that I am local on the machine, and after a reboot, the behavior
persists.

Anyone ever seen this?

My next step is to do a repair install on Office.

I figured it out. The very odd solution was to reduce my resolution...
Then I was able to set it back to my normal resolution and all was
well. Vista is odd. I think this is more a vista issue than an office
issue. I pray for Vista SP1 every night...

You should probably pray for better Vista video drivers above all.

Just had the same behavior on Windows XP w/Office 2007. Word 2007 also
looked like it was in 16 color mode as well, and it persisted between
reboots. I fixed the problem by changing my "Color Quality" from 32
bit to 16 bit and back to 32 bit again.
