Outlook 2007 high cpu load on email deletion or move to another fo

Hi,
Whenever I delete an email from my Inbox or attempt to move the message
to another folder, Outlook 2007 runs at 100% for several seconds. This is
most annoying when I'm trying to inspect and delete a number of files.
I'm connected to Exchange 2003 and have tried both cached and non cache
modes but there is no difference.

Any clues?

I thought I'd report that I have disabled my anti Virus (Sophos), uninstalled
Windows Defender and uninstalled Windows Desktop Search and I still have the
same problem.

I may have to have another go at a complete OS level rebuild as I've
exhausted all avenues I can think of. If the problem then remains I'll move
back to Office 2003 (which is what I expect I'll have to do ... pity!!).

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, in another thread about performance issues it
was suggested that I may have a "Cyberlink" addon installed. I don't. However
the addons I have are from Bill (Office) only. I have disabled them all.
Still the same problem remaining....

I could, quite literally, put a brick through this!

Well I've now deleted and rebuilt my ost file. Guess what? Yep no
difference... sheeze!

Well with the dearth of replies. I ended up rebuilding my machine from
scratch. For now, I seem to have success, I wonder for how long this will be.

Sad!

Hey Pete,

Just curious if you have an update on this. I noticed within the last week
that my PC's fan was louder than normal, took a look and saw that my CPU was
hovering right around 27% even with no apps running.

If I reboot, the CPU goes up and down as expected, but usually rests at
about 2% or so.

I started opening apps one at a time and it seems to be Outlook 2007 that's
the culprit as once I open it, the CPU goes back up to around that 27% point
and stays there even if I close Outlook.

I do have a Windows Mobile device, but during these "tests" it wasn't
plugged in, and OUTLOOK.EXE isn't shown in the Task Manager after it's closed.

I know that last year there was a patch for Outlook 2007 that fixed a high
CPU usage issue for people whose PST files were pretty big, but I can't seem
to find much in the way of current issues with O'07 and high CPU usage.

Hence, my wondering if you have anything else to report on this.

Thanks!
