Outlook 2007 Hidden Folders?

When I upgraded to Outlook 2007 Beta it appears to have hidden some of my
folders. i.e. I can see my main Contacts folder and all my contacts are
there. However, I have a second folder called Wedding, it had my wedding
contacts in it. It is not listed under “My Contacts†but when I try to
create a new folder called Wedding, (So I can re-import them back in) Outlook
2007 tells me the folder already exists. Any ideas, or is this a bug in
Outlook 2007?

Sounds normal to me.
You use Folder List to see all your Folders. If you want to add a Contact
subfolder one to your My Contacts view, R click it and select "Add to My
Contact"
That's the way current versions work.

Thanks Russ, actually the issue is that my Contact Subfolder has disappeared.
I can not even find it, or see it. But when I go to add that folder, it
says it already exists, but I do not konw how to see it.

This also happened with my Tasks sub folder. I had an additional task
folder labeled COMPLETED. It is also not appearing in the MY TASKS area, but
when I try to re-create a new task folder called COMPLETED it tells me it
already exisits, and yet like the contact folder, it is not visible and I can
not seem to get it back.

Convince me you are using Folder List view.
You did back up your data before installing a beta didn't you?

Hi Russ, short of a screen shot I do not know how you want me to "convince
you" Yes I did back up my data, and the folders are there, as evident below
when I try to add the folder back with the same name, Outlook tells me it
already exists and yet the folder is not visible in my folder list view. I
do have a folder list view, as I can see all my folders in e-mail....The
Navagitaion pane is on, the to do bar, the reading pane, they are all there,
these folders have just gone hidden.......do you have any other ideas??

If Outlook says the folder is there, it probably is.
Do you know what Folder List view is? How did you invoke it? Did you use the
icon at the bottom of the NAV pane?

Hey there, yes I know what the folder list view is. I go to VIEW - NAV PANE
- NORMAL...I used to teach MS Office at the expert level. i have tried
customozing my views to see if there is some new optoin in Outlook 2007 but
to no avail, my additional folders will not appear! I think it is a bug.

OK WOW just figured it out! I had to re-add them to the navigation pane.
FILE - NEW - NAVIGATION PANE SHORTCUT - Then all my folders were listed and I
could add them! So it did not automatically bring them over and you have to
re-add them to your folder list view......that could drive some new users
insane when they migrate, especially if they have numerous sub folders in
Contacts, Calendar, etc. Thanks for the help....just glad I figured it out.

You still have much to learn. You still never figured out what Folder List
view is, did you? Read all my posts again. Had you actually been using
Folder List view you would have seen all your folders immediately. There you
could add them to the "My Contacts" section of the Contacts view if they
weren't appearing there.
How much you have to reconfigure your views depends on how you migrated your
data. None of this changed in Outlook 2007.
