Good Day;
I purchased a laptop computer at auction from a community college and
installed a new/legal version of Office 2007. When I attempted to set-up
Outlook, it defaults to MS Exchange and exits since I do not have a default,
valid user name for the network. I tried Administrator with no joy. Is
there a setting that I can access to override the Exchange default set-up?

Thanks in Advance;

Control Panel-Mail-Email Accounts and remove the Exchange account there.

Assuming your used laptop was supplied with the installation disks or other
means of recovering to factory spec, the first thing I would do is clean
install windows, after all you've no idea what maybe lurking on the HD. What
you are seeing is the remains of the origonal users setup/profile
Whilst that is easy to solve, what else remains could cause you problems
later.
