outlook 2007 crashes when inputting new contacts

Outlook crashes when inputting a new contact phone numbers(home, mobile, or
work). Also crashes when selecting tools ( custom). Have reinstalled no joy.

Have you tried the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) or a new mail profile?
 
Tried the different profile but the inbox repair where is that?

Start>Programs>Microsoft Office Tools>Inbox Repair Tool or
Start>Programs>Microsoft Office>Microsoft Office Tools>Inbox Repair Tool
should start it. If you have neither, then it will be
%ProgramFIles%\Microsoft Office\Office12\scanpst.exe
 
Brian, tried that but no joy, I am totally clueless on this one.

As Yoda said, "There is no try, only do". What do you mean by "tried" and
what does "no joy" mean? There is no "no joy" error message in Outlook. if
you can't be precise in describing exactly what you did and exactly what
resulted, how can anyone help?
 
Brian, didn't know that you wouldn't understand but here it is, two replies
ago you asked the question "had I tried a different profile or inbox repair"
and that is what I was answering to your question. "no joy", "no work" still
have the problem" after trying all that you asked about.

I know that, but you don't state what happened when you tried. Did you get
any error messages? Describe how you created the mail profile so I can know
that did it correctly. Did the scanpst execution run without errors?
 
Brian, when I created a new profile I received no error messages, and when
I ran the inbox repair there were errors and did repair without any error
messanges and still all the discrepancies previously stated are still there.

For some reason you won't describe how you created the profile and connected
your PST to it, so I'm sorry, i can't help because I have no idea what you
actually did.
