I've just installed Outlook 2007 but it's continually hanging at the
Retrieving mailbox settings... screen.

Anyone seen this, got a work around? I've gone into my mail settings and
removed my profile, etc.

I've run detect and repair.

It's going to be a fairly short beta if I don't get it working in the next
hour or so!!!

I've got four profiles in my Outlook 2007, three Exchange accounts and one
POP3 account and it is only the POP3 account that hangs..
The scenario is this:
1. I startup my computer and open Outlook 2007 with the POP3 profile - it
works fine...
2. I close Outlook and Outlook as a program closes..
3. after a while (doesn't mater if it's seconds or hours later) I try to
open Outlook again and it hangs..
4. in the task manager I can see that there are two Outlook processes, one
big (the originally) and one small (the new)...

It's only after the POP3 profile that Outlook hangs.
I have tried several times with the Exchange profiles, online and offline,
and there are no problems.

Hi,

Try opening Outlook through Start> Run> outlook /safe
Check if Outlook is able to walk through the procedures of first run without
freezing.
Also, make notes of any errors that pops up during the same process.

Thanks,

Mittu

I got the problem sorted.

By removing my profile and removing my Exchange cache. It allowed me to open
Outlook 2007 and then proceed.

To remove my Exchange connections, I had to add a set of personal folders
initially and then switch over once it was up and running.

Seems to be working fine now.
