For a month or two, I was running Outlook 2007 together with Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint 2007.
Recently, however, I uninstalled all the 2007 applications except for
Outlook 2007. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 had too many significant bugs
for me to continue using the products regularly, but I wanted to continue
using Outlook 2007.
So I've installed Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2003 instead of their 2007
brethren.
Unfortunately, Outlook 2007 is not very happy on its own. In particular, I
seem to have much more limited "rich" email editing capabilities than I did
before de-installing Word, Excel, etc. 2007. I can't insert or edit tables.
I can't fine tune the formatting of content boxes of any sort. And things
like that.
I realize this is because Outlook 2007 previously depended on its 2007
co-products for this functionality. So my question is:
How can I get back the full functionality of Outlook 2007 without
re-installing the entire Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 products?
I was careful when I de-installed the other 2007 products just to de-install
the products -- not some of the libraries or features labeled as being shared
across all the different Office 2007 products. But, apparently, this wasn't
enough to save the functionality in Outlook 2007 that I'm now missing.
Any help in "cracking this nut" would be much appreciated. I'd like to
continue using Outlook 2007, but it will be hard to do so without that
functionality I had before.
