When I set up a meeting or appointment, I would like to have defaults for
Reminder set at 1hour and Free/Busy set at Busy. Is there any way to set
these defaults? I can't find it.

Set the default reminder on Tools>Options.

The free/busy default depends on the type of entry you're creating. An
event defaults to free. An appointment or meeting defaults to busy. I
don't believe you can change that.

Thanks Brian, that solved my problem. I was double clicking on the calendar
date to bring up the "meeting" screen and then filling in my info. If I go to
"New/appointment" and click - the defaults are "busy", "notify 1 hour". That
is exactly what I need. Thanks again.

Double-clicking a date produces an all-day event, which has the "free"
default. I'm glad I was able to help.

tools, options... you can set the default reminder time for a timed
appointment (not all day event) but not the free/busy.... but the appt is
always busy if you open a new from from a day or week grid or New menu.

Is there a way to set the default free/busy for an all day event to Out of
Office or Busy?

The default is nonsensical. All day events are likely to involve doing
something, so 'free' is the worst of all options. It should be either 'busy'
or 'out of office'. For those people who want to diarise an event they will
not be attending (why diarise it????) they can change the default, leaving
the other 99.9% of users a more relevant default.

Actually, all day events are often holidays and birthdays, which most people
would not want marked anything other than free. Timed appointments are
generally made for events which you will be busy.
