Outlook 2007 blurs contact images!

I recently discovered that Outlook 2007 blurs contact images whenever an
image is inserted into a contact file. Is there any setting in Outlook to
override this or is it an inbuilt feature of Outlook.

PS: Outlook did not blur contact images when I synchronised contacts on my
desktop from my Pocket PC.

Please help!

try an image that is closer in size to the size of the picture field - 98 h
x 74 w. If the picture is too large, outlook has to resize it and that can
cause distortion. While an image with a 4x3 aspect ratio should work, and
image program may do a better job of resizing the image, especially if it is
large.

Trim about 10 - 12 pixels off each side of the 100x100 and it should look
better.

I cropped the contact pic to a size of 90h x 74w and tried inserting it. But
in vain, Outlook is blurring it again!

The most surprizing thing is that the contact cards that I created on my
pocket PC had images of the size of 150x150px. When I imported them into
Outlook 2007, the quality of their images didn't get distorted. In fact, they
look better than the ones I create using Outlook itself (even if I use a pic
of size 90h x 74w) !!

In addition, when I sent these contacts as business cards (in Outlook
format) to my friend, the quality of the pics again got degraded on the
destination computer!

what is the dpi of the image? Outlook uses 96 dpi but in all of my tests the
image size has more to do with it than the dpi - any dpi is sharp as long as
outlook doesn't have to resize the photo.

what resolution do you use and what dpi do you have the computer set for?
Both of these will also affect it, however, all programs will be affected,
not just outlook.

Hi Nikhil,

I installed MS Office 2007 and working fine.

I own a HP iPAQ (a pocket PDA, I think it is iPAQ h2215 model) with MS
ActiveSynch 4.2 build 4876.

I added contact pictures to my Outlook contacs, I syncronized my PDA with
Outlook, I selected the contact information on my PDA, I see all contact
information but I don't see the contact picture on my Pocket PDA.

How can see the contact pictures on MY PDA?

Can you please send you reply to my e-mail address (e-mail address removed).

Eric
