when I use the paperclip to attach a contact to an email I would like to
sometimes send the contact as a text. When I try to check the text only box
it won't let me.
Also is there an easier way to find and insert a contact than by using the
paperclip and then needing to scroll through all my contacts. Any help/idea
you can provide would be most appreciated

Insert > Item will provide all the options you need.
"It won't let me?" What does it do? Hold you at gunpoint?

Russ, Sorry for my bad communication skills. When I hit the paperclip- go to
item then scroll through the addresses - click an adrress to insert, a box
comes up on the right hand side minsert as under ok and cancel that has 2
options. text only and attachment. Some of the people I send to can't open
the attachemnent so I try to select text only and can't get that to be
selected.
My second questions: Is tere an easier way to search for a contact and
forward it.
I hope I did a better job explaining my question.
Thank you-Mark

So when you select a Contact to insert from your list, what happens when you
select "Insert as Text only?"
When you're sending to users who aren't using Outlook, it often better to
select the Contact in your Contacts folder then use "Forward as vCard" to
put it into a standardized format.

I click the cicle and nothing happens. I click the attachemnt to vacate that
and the circle remains checked and won't vacate it. I'll do as you suggest
and forward as a v card. It's not a big deal. It became a quest to slove on
my part. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
thanks-Mark

The option to send as text should work fine. It always has here. If it
doesn't, it means something is wrong either with the Contact Record or with
the messaging transport used to insert the item to the message. Check your
Outlook data file for errors using the Inbox Repair Tool. Then examine your
Outlook Address Book to make sure it is functioning correctly and isn't
referencing outdated folders.
