outlook 2003

When I try to import my old OE messages into Outlook 2003
I receive and error stating that the folder cannot be
opened because it is in use by another program. I cannot
find another program that is accessing my messages folder.
Any ideas on how I can get around this and import my
messages?
 
What process are you using to import the messages? Please be very
specific -- list all steps and the exact commands you're using.
