Is there a way to force hyperlinks to open in the same window in IE6, when
called from Outlook (or any other Office 2003 application)?

I upgraded from Office 2000 where this was not an issue - the setting in
Internet Options "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" was honoured.
However, this does not appear to be the case with Outlook/Office 2003.
Surely this can't be hard coded, as I would expect that the settings of the
program being called would take precedence over any other settings.

This is a major nuisance when opening a lot of links from within an e-mail.
It doesn't happen when opening links from Outlook Newsreader or any other
non-Office 2003 application.

Am I missing something? If not, any workarounds?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, however this registry value is already set correctly
(it just reflects the state of the "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
in Internet - Options - Advanced). Does toggling this value work for you?
I'd be interested to know. I've already tried most variables, but have
failed to change this behaviour in Outlook/Office 2003, which leads me to
think it may be the (unchangeable) default.

Once again, thanks for your suggestion. Any other ideas?

What did you know... I actually overlooked that option and went for the
registry key :-)

That option certainly works for me. Do you have pop-up blockers installed
that could be causing this? If the problem is not restricted to Outlook I
suggest you try your luck in the Internet Explorer newsgroup.

No pop-up blockers installed - or anything else that I suspect might cause
the problem. IE6 works as expected when called from Outlook Express (as the
Outlook Newsreader) it opens a new window for each link only from Outlook
2003 and Word 2003 - which made me think this was a setting within Office
2003.

Thanks for your help.
