When I try to edit my custom dictionary I get the normal msgbox "No custom
dictionary exists. Would you like to create a custom dictionary?" and press
OK but then Explorer opens in folder "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\MSMAPI\1033".

This occurs in one user's Terminal Services session.

Other users running OL on the same server do not have this problem.

are the others using terminal services too?

The correct path is:
C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application
Data\Microsoft\Proof\CUSTOM.DIC

ALL are using TS.

I went to the problem user's folder (...\Proof\) and copied a CUSTOM.DIC
file there.
Then tried to edit it but still got Explorer opening up as before.

Actually this problem now occurs for 2 out of 4 TS users.

Thomas,
here is the solution
This occurs when a user is using microsoft word as there spell checker,
but do not have a custom dictionary installed on microsoft word.
Open up Microsoft Word on that users profile,
Go Tools > Options > Custom Dictionaries
Checkbox a Custom Dictionary or make one.
Apply changes, Exit Word
Load outlook and your done

Jason

Thank Jason you very very much for taking the time to help. The solution works.

....now where is that MS developer project leader who stuffed up. If I catch
him I'll spin his propellar backward and unfizz his coke. Darn can't do
that...he's probably still in nappies...

This solution does not work in my case.

I was using OL-2003-Pro for years wiithut problems. Couple of weeks ago I
upgraded to OL-2007-Ultimate. It did not like me and I installed back OL-2003
with Word as editor, as always I did, but it has only 4 English dictionaries
available and I need at least the Spanish one. Where is it.

It's not under where someone said in this case. How can I get it?
