Outlook 2003 Very, Very, Very Slow...... WHY?

G

There are lots of people on here asking this question but they seem to be
being ignored? Why? Why is nobody from Microsoft or anywhere answering
everyones questions regarding the reason and solution for Outlook 2003 being
too slow and virtualy unusable? For about three weeks now all of my customers
(and I have many) have been suffering with Outlook 2003 being slow when you
open it, hanging for up to ten minutes at a time and when you type an email
the text does not apear as you type. All of these customers were fine before
about three weeks ago and none of them have changed their configuration at
all. I have run Anti-Virus scans and Windows Defender full scans and found no
problems. I have also run Spybot Search and Destroy scans again with no
problems. These systems are all patched with every Microsoft Update offering.
I strongly suspect a Microsoft Windows Update has caused this problem. What
is being done about this? Or is this email, like so many others on here,
going to just be ignored? PLEASE MICROSOFT FIX THIS PROBLEM. Raymond Worley -

PS This issue hasn't been ignored. Microsoft is currently working on a fix
and the work around has been posted repeatedly over the last several weeks.

Thank you. I will try removing this update. I will also paste your answer
onto MathewP's Thread from two days ago.

Great news. I just got back from a vacation and am having problems too. I
can remove the update. Any links to the "work around" directions or is it as
simple as removing the update?

Thanks!

Simply uninstall for now. I hear a revised update will be available through
Automatic Updates shortly, if it isn't already.

NO, it doesn't work!!!

I uninstalled the "culprit" update, but still my OL starts crawling all of a
sudden and chews up nearly all the CPU utilisation. What's up???

And no, MS has not published any updates YET!

Do you have any search tools like Google Desktop installed?

Any news regarding the date that a fix will be forthcoming from Microsoft?
This is really irritating. Surely Microsoft can reverse engineer the update
and supply a fix? Uninstalling the Update does not work and is not an option
for all of my customers in any case. Microsoft should work night and day to
fix this. Microsoft, please tell me when this is going to be fixed?

Nope. I only have the Microsoft Windows Desktop Search installed. Anyways,
whats that got to do with it? And if it does, shouldn't MS ask that before
installing this crazy update?

Come on Brian please answer our questions. K.Orland has already accepted that
this is a problem created by a Windows Update, he has even told us which one.
So when is this going to be fixed? Please answer the question that I asked.
We all had properly working systems before this Update and now we have very
sick email systems. My customers are pretty fed up with this. The question
is: WHEN WILL WE SEE A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM? Please do not ignore this thread
and please provide an answer.

How would I know? I don't work for Microsoft.
We all had properly working systems
before this Update and now we have very sick email systems.

So uninstall the update.
