Outlook 2003 "this meeting is not in the calendar

On a Vista PC with Outlook 2003 when a users recieves an invite to a meeting
they get the following error when they accept

"this meeting is not in the calendar. it may have been moved or deleted".


Please Help
 
I have exactly the same problem on my Vista machine with Outlook 2003. Also,
my Accept, Tentative, Decline and Propose new Time buttons are greyed out.

I had this problem ("This meeting is not in the Calendar; it may have
been moved or deleted.") today in Outlook from Office 2003 running on
Windows XP.

I fixed it by:
1. Applying office 2007 updates (even though I'm not using office
2007, I'm using Office 2003, the office 2007 updates were still
presented to me as in need of update by update.microsoft.com)

And/Or

2. Rebooting my machine and logging in with my new domain password
(which changed yesterday and I don't think I had shut down nor logged
off of my computer since).
