Hi,

Is there any way to disable/get rid of the System Tray
icon when using Outlook 2003?

Thanks in advance.

If you are using Windows XP, just hide it. Right click on the taskbar,
select properties, then Taskbar and Start Menu Programs. On the taskbar
tab, select customize and then go to the Outlook icon and select "always
hde."

A related problem in my system (XP Pro SP1) is that when I
shut down outlook(final),the system tray icon remains on but it's
unresponsive! I have to go to task manager and kill outlook
to get rid of it (everytime!). Any ideas on what may be
causing this?

This is a poor solution. If I were to follow the advice I
wouldn't have the icon but I would have the arrows
indicating that an icon I never want to see again is
hidden! I don't use the 'hide inactive icons' feature, I
simply get rid of all icons that are placed in the System
Tray that I decide I do not require.

I want to remove the icon, and it's useless (to me)
functionality, I don't really want a workaround.

Regards
AC
