I just upgrade Office 2002 to 2003 trail version. My
problem is with Outlook 2003 not responding. The first
time I open outlook 2003 after a reboot it will open and
function fine. If I close it and then try to reopen it at
another time it does not open or respond but continues to
display the outlook icon in the system clock area. The
only way I can use outlook after this is to reboot the
computer. Why is this happening?

are you using activesync, stamps.com, or winfax? any other programs that
access data in the message store?

for best results, leave outlook running all the time and minimize it to the
task bar or tray to release much of he memory it uses. Don't close it until
you plan to turn off the computer - and close programs that access outlook
data first and undock pda's.

I do have winfax. The reason I have to do close it
because i have different profiles set up for different
email address that I have. Is there anyway to switch
profiles without closing?

For best results, leave outlook running?! I could use the memory for other
purposes... Would be something if more programs would behave like this.

I've got the same problem, reinstalled outlook 2003, do have an exchange
server account, and activesynch installed. Uninstalling activesynch doesn't
make any difference. After killing the process I can restart Outlook, but
even when starting in safe mode, again I am unable to close it completely.

I didn't always have this problem, only since a few weeks.

Double clicking the icon suggests you cancel pending server requests, only
there is no way to do that...

Anybody any ideas?

Regards,

Rolf
