Outlook 2003 shutdown issue - my solution

This may not work for anyone else, but...

I upgraded from Panda Titanium to Panda Titanium 2004, and began to notice
this 'shutdown but still running in the system tray' issue. My only
resolution to this was to use Task Manager to kill the outlook.exe process.
(Try explaining Task Manager to your spouse someday. Fun ensues.)

I discovered that the Titanium product had put an extra value in the Windows
Messaging Subsystem key, that was a reference to a dll included in the Panda
product. I altered the name of this dll in the value key, and rebooted. To
my surprise, Outlook 2003 shut down cleanly every time I tried. Re-enabling
that value key caused Outlook to hang on shutdown again.

I don't know if it's the Panda dll, Outlook, the combination of both, or
what, but something doesn't jive between these two programs. I suppose I
can assume one of three things: a) the Panda 2004 product is screwed up, b)
the way that O2k3 lets virus scanners talk to it is flawed, or c) the Panda
product was still scanning all my mail, and I simply never had the patience
to wait and see if Outlook would eventually close on its own.

But we all know what happens when you assume.

Microsoft almost always recommends against the virus scanners integrating with received e-mail and Outllook.
