Outlook 2003 shortcut to custom form in public folder /c switch

I have developed and deployed a custom form to a public folder. I woul
like to bring up the form from a shortcut on the desktop using th
Outlook.exe command line switch /c "IPM.Note.MyCustomFormName" whic
works with Outlook 2000/2002. It seems that this does not work wit
Outlook 2003 unless I publish the form to the personal folder. Doe
anyone have any suggestions? Has the syntax changed slightly?

This is normal behavior. Outlook doesn't know to look in a particular folder
for a form that you call with this switch. The difference from earlier
versions is that OUtlook 2003 has a folder-specific cache.

That definately explains the problem I'm having. I will probably en
up publishing the form to the organizational folder then.

Is this the best way to manage custom forms in Outlook i.e. publish them to the Organization Forms Library

The preferred publishing location depends on the application. Message forms
must be published either to Org Forms or to each sender and recipient's
Personal Forms library. Other types of forms can be published either to
those libraries or to the folders where the items created with the forms
will be stored.

The folder-specific cache is a new feature designed to avoid the forms cache
problems that have plagued folder-published forms in the past.

Also note: The newsgroup interface you are using apparently does not quote
earlier messages in the thread, making your latest message so short on
detail that you risk not getting the answer you're looking for. Please take

A form published to a public folder cannot be run with the /c switch. Think
about it: How would Outlook know to look for it there?

will be stored". When you say "other forms" are you meaning for example a
custom calender form? AND can this form in the public folder be opened from
a shortcut with the /c switch?
