Outlook 2003 recurrence problems

when i open a calendar entry and hit the save and close button it
automatically sets an occurrence. I have to open several times to remove
recurrence before it finally takes and closes with no recurrence. If anyone
has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
 
New Dell? If yes, remove the outlookaddinsetup from Control Panel->Add/remove programs.
