Outlook 2003, PST files and Roaming Profiles

Hi,

I have a problem with Outlook 2003 and our roaming user
profiles.

I have installed into my group policy the Outlook 2003 ADM
file and changed the default location of the PST files to
NOT being in the Local Settings folder (instead I want
them in %appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook). The initial
outlook.pst file is created in the correct folder but when
I configure my IMAP server account, using the wizard, it
creates the PST file in my Local Settings folder instead
totally ignoring my policy setting.

Obviously when I logout my new accounts PST is deleted,
since I have not put in my hack to roam local settings yet
which I use to get OE working properly. On logging back in
on a different machine and starting outlook it whinges
that my IMAP servers PST file has moved location (it
doesn't exist I guess that means!) and recreates it in the
local settings folder !.

I guess this is a bug, perhaps the wizard is hard coded to
use the default folder? Is there a way to circumvent
this ?. Once the PST is created there doesn't seem to be a
way to move the files location.

Thanks for any help in advance,

That policy applies only to user-created PST files. Those created for IMAP accounts and Windows SharePoint Services linked lists will be in the Local Settings folder. There is no way to change that, and those files can't be moved.

I've never heard of any cases of that happening.
