Outlook 2003 Problem

I installed Outlook 2003 on my laptop, which is running Windows XP and
hooked it up to my Exchange server in order to transfer my mailbox
contents from my desktop to my laptop.

Outlook automatically makes an offline copy of one's mailbox, which I
think is cool, but in this case I experienced a weird result:
everything copied over to my laptop and is available off-line and
online. But all the messages disappeared from the inbox of my desktop
machine (all the other folders and their contents seem fine.)

So my desktop has an empty inbox and my laptop has a 4.5MB inbox. All
the other folders appear normal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm are you sure it made an offline folder it sounds to me as if you had a
pst (instead of a ost) and then set up the Exchange account but with the
delivery set to the pst this would "download" everything to the pst.
