All,

I just upgraded my office 2003 installation to the beta2 technical refresh
and have lost the ability to connect to my pop email accounts (I've
uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003).

After I reinstalled the beta 1 version of Office 2003, I installed 2 of my
pop accounts, to narrow down the problem, and Outlook 2003 worked just fine.
However when I installed the "Office 2003 Beta 2 Technical Refresh (English
version)" from the update site on the new install of Beta 1 and rebooted my
computer I once again lost the ability to connect to my POP Servers.

The error messages I'm receiving are:

Task 'XXX - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed
out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server

Task ' XXX - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC15) : 'Unable to connect to
the network.

When I added my MSN account to the mix I receive a:

Task "MSN: Folder : Inbox Synchronizing headers.' Reported error
(0x800CCC0E) : "Unable to connect to the server.'

With Beta 2 installed I check the pop accounts with Outlook Express and they
worked, IE also works fine the only aberration I've seen is when I attempted
to activate Office 2003 via the Internet I got an error message stating
"unable to connect to server" but IE once again worked ???

Obviously Outlook is using a new connection scheme but I don't have a clue
what needs to be changed??? . has any one else seen this behavior. Any help
will be appreciated.

All,
Just incase someone else has this problem the fix is Start\Settings\Control
Panel\Mail\Show Profiles...\Then Remove the profile in the box "The
following profiles are set up on this computer" IE Outlook. You then create
a new profile when you start Outlook again...
Theirs 6 hours of my day.... "God how I hate computers"
