Outlook 2003 not Synching offline

I have upgraded to Outlook 2003 from Outlook XP. In OL XP I set up Send/Retrieve groups to synchronize certain folders and do an outomated send/retrieve every 5 mins when in offline mode. In OL 2003 I have the exact same settings but it does not synch the selected folders every 5 minutes via my VPN connection. When you hit THIS FOLDER (EXCHANGE SERVER) in OL XP it used to synch all folders in my mailbox, in OL 2003 it only synchs the current mailbox folder. I have tried Cache Exchange mode checked and unchecked. The backend is OL 2000 server
1. Why does offline automated sync via send/retrieve groups no longer work in OL 2003 like it did in OL XP
2. When I hit THIS FOLDER it only syncs the current folder... How do I get to synch my whole mailbox (all folders). Used to work perfectly in OL XP. Now I must manually sync each individual folder, calendar, notes, etc... an absolute pain.
Help an old frustrated Office user please

I had the exact same problem after an upgrade from Outlook XP (but
with a Exchange 5.5 server). This seems to be a FAQ for the beta
version (other newsgroup postings show up under searches for "offline
Outlook 2003"), and evidently Microsoft ignored the complaints of beta
users. A Microsoft Knowledge Base article suggests doing a Send
Receive All, followed by <folder properties> Clear Offline Items, but
that didn't work for me. Another article suggested making a copy of
the send/receive group and enabling that copy, but that didn't work
for me either.

Here's what did work for me: I deleted the old .ost file and created a
new profile from scratch (Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add),
re-entering all my settings. I've got Cached Exchange Mode turned
off, and offline synchronization now works.

I have the same problem. Just spent hours creating
public folder favourites around 100MB to find that
send/receive not working. Thanks for your post, sounds
like I will have fun. Might try cached mode first before
blowing away the ost.
