Outlook 2003 not opening messages from Exchange 2000 Server

I have recently rebuilt my laptop with Windows XP and Office 2000 Professional. After setting up Outlook 2003, all of my messages show in the listing after connecting to my Exchange 2000 mailbox. The problem is none of the messages will open either in the reading pane or by trying to open the messages.

I receive a Microsoft Outlook error "Can't open this item"

p.s. I have another client with Office 2003 installed and the messages will open on this client.

Hi. I have a user with the exact config and the exact issue. Any new
