My old machine is Win XP Professional running Outlook express 2003 with IE 7
loaded. My new machine is running Vista with only Microsoft Mail loaded on
it. From discussion threads it appears I need to export from Outlook 2003 to
Outlook Express and that I need to install Outlook Express on my old computer
to occomplish this. I downloaded OutLook Express 6.0 (ie6setupOe.exe) and
attempted to install it on my old computer and when I run setup it tells me:
"Setup has deteccted a newer version of IE already installed on system."

Can someone provide me with the simplest option to get my Outlook 2003 mail
from my old machine to Microsoft Mail on my new machine.

Thanks in advance.

1. There is no "Outlook express 2003".

2. The WinXP machine already has Outlook Express 6. Go to Start | Run and
type:
msimn.exe

It may be simpler to install your Outlook 2003 on Vista (it will work fine)
and set it to use your old PST file. I think you'll be much happier using
Outlook.

Re: this post; Frank; do you mean, MS Outlook; or Outlook Express? And, if
I want to use just OE on my new WinVista notebook, can I download OE from
that OE website and get it to work on Vista? Might solve my sending
problem, and I know I'd like using Address Book instead of Win Contacts.

Thanks, Mari

Outlook Express will not work on Vista.
Windows Mail replaced OE on Vista.

Outlook 2003 can be installed and works well on Vista.

I say Outlook when I mean Outlook and Outlook Express when I mean Outlook
Express.

You cannot install Outlook Express on Vista.
