Outlook 2003 locks on restart

I upgraded from Outlook 2000. Whenever Outlook 2003 is
closed, it cannot be restarted without doing a complete
shutdown. It just hangs with no error message.

I have performed the "Repair" process several times and
XP is up to date with all patches. Technet only address
one similar issue with a specific error message that I do
not get; I don't get any error mmessage.

It's also know to just stop receiving new email with no
error message which necessitates a restart, which now
requires a shutdown.

Help would be appreciated.

I have the same experience - very frustrating. There was
also some strange behavior regarding the Task Tray icon
for OL2003, did you experience that? I upgraded from
OfficeXP. Are you on an Exchange server, or POP3?

I am getting this "unable to reopen Outlook" problem on some of ou
upgraded machines.

You do not have to reboot. You can open Taskmanager, select processe
and end any OUTLOOK.EXE processes that you see (there will be one fo
each time you have tried to open Outlook).

Has anybody got an answer to this one yet
