Outlook 2003. How can I reply without history?

How can one select to either, "Reply with History", or eliminate History when
replying to e-mails. Granted, it's nice sometimes to have the entire chain
of e-mails. At other times, it's a p.i.t.a. and should be eliminated.

I remember, in Lotus Notes, if you wanted to have the kite-tail string of
antecedent e-mails, you had to select "Reply with History." The default was
to reply without all of the attendant garbage. I prefer this. Can Outlook
be set up to do this?
 
outlook doesn't do reply with history. I use the reply inline option and
Select All (ctrl+a) then start typing to remove the history. If I deleted my
signature using Select all and need one, I use insert signature.

Click Tools>Options>E-mail Options. What's possible is contained in the "On
replies and forwards" section in the lower half of the dialogue.
