When I press Send/Receive in My Outlook, when I want to send a message,
Outlook reports that it is trying to 1 of 16 messages.

1) have I a virus?
2) how do I get rid of it?

Regards

Clive

Are there that many in your Outbox folder? If so, choose Work Offline from
the File drop down menu. Click on the Outbox folder and delete the items.
Close Outlook and then open Outlook and choose Work Offline (uncheck).

Hope this works. Let us know.

No, when I press Send/Receive to download any messages from my ISP or the
webmail service that use (Yahoo) even if there is nothing in the Outbox, it
states that it is trying to send message - currently when I do this it
thinks that it is trying to send 10 apparently non-existent messages, which
makes think that there is some kind of worm/virus that is trying to use my
email address for spammng purposes.

Crazy, I do not get this when in Outlook express.

Usually the sign of undeliverable read receipts, which are hidden messages.
