Outlook 2003 Freezes when opened

My Outlook 2003 freezes upon opening. My most recent email which
Outlook defaults to doesn't get the chance to be fully visible.

I can't go into menu options to check for settings.

Each time I open it up I have to CTL+SFT+DEL to get out of it. It only
started this morning after working fine for months.

My Outlook.pst file is 138mb, so not too big.

Additionally, I can't open a web page until I have shut Outlook down,
as IE hangs.

I have saved my Outlook.pst file in case I have to delete thn
re-install Outlook.

I have run my antivirus through my PC, but all is clean.

Anybody have any suggestions before I reove and then re-install?

Regards,

andym

REmoving and reinstalling normally does nothing for troubleshooting. Have
you run Detect and Repair? Have you tried a new mail profile?

Milly,

thanks for your reply... I unfortunately don't get the opportunity to
create another profile as Outlook freezes the moment it opens. All
access to the menu bar has gone before it starts!!

Could you please elaborate on the "Detect & Repair"? Is it an in-built
Outlook function or a seperate downloadable program?

Many thanks..

Click Start>Control Panel>Add and Remove Programs. Select Outlook (or
Office) and click Change. You'll be given an opportunity to repair within
the dialogue boxes that ensue.
