Help! I purchased OLook 2003 and installed on my
desktop. My laptop still has OLook XP. As usual I
exported my contacts, calendar, emails in PST format to
then upload on my laptop. The laptop does not recognize
the files.

Similarly I attempt to synch my Sony Clie with my desktop
and, you got it, nothing.

Don't know about the Clie issue, but Outlook 2003 uses a new Unicode format
for .PST files, which is not compatible with earlier Outlook versions. You
can create a .PST file in the old format and then copy data to it from your
new OL2003 .PST...then you'll be able to use the old format .PST on your
laptop.

Thank you Jocelyn! However I'm not sure I know what
you're talking about:

I've tried to export the 2003 data as PST file and then
import it into Outlook XP. What is the alternative method
for exporting the 2003 data, i.e. how do I create a .PST
file in the old format from my now new 2003 data?

In Outlook, click File | New | Outlook Data File. Choose the Outlook
97-2002 Personal Folders File option, then click OK. The new file will open
in your folder list. Copy your data from the Outlook 2003 .PST to the
Outlook 97-2002 .PST. When you're done, right-click the 97-2002 file's root
folder and select Close. Now you can copy that .PST to Outlook XP and open
it via File | Open.
