Here is what happens:
1. I click on the outlook 2003 icon
2. Outlook opens
3. After a second, there's a bubble that shows up on the tray that
says: "A connection to the server could not be established. localhost
is now offline mode."
4. Immediately after, the Office crash dialog box shows up saying: MS
Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. It has a
checkbox as an option to restart outlook. A restart just recreates the
scenario above.
Here's what I've tried:
1. Deleted the mail accounts in outlook using the registry.
2. Uninstalled Office. I also uninstalled FranklinCovey Plus plug-in.
This did not help either.
3. Cleaned up the Registry using Ace Utilities.
4. Reinstalled Office
5. Sent the automatic error report to Microsoft, despite my personal
policy of not ever doing microsoft's job for them. Well, desparate
times require desparate measures!
6. Looked in support.microsoft.com for this error message. There is
nothing on this at all.
7. Searched Google Groups and also found nothing relevant.
Has anyone encountered this problem and been able to fix it. Any
suggestions would be welcome. I also wonder if the registry isn't
quite clean yet. Any suggestions on which keys to look for and fix?
Thanks in advance.
