Outlook 2003 crash on start-up

Subject says it all! For the last few days I cannot use
Outlook as it crashes immediately on start-up. I've tried
reinstalling, repairing, uninstalling then reinstalling,
and it still crashes within a couple of seconds of start-
up. Microsoft gets an error report every time, of
course! :)

Any ideas anyone????

1) try running scanpst.exe on your Personal Folder

2) try renaming outcmd.dat to .old and restart Outlook. All the Toolbars
will reset then. This is quite a common probem with Outlook . The default
location for this file is C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\APPLICATION
DATA\Microsoft\Outlook

3) try recreating the profile in Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

4) try running Outlook with the /save swith from your Run window. When this
works run Help-> Detect and Repair.

5) try disabling individual add-ons in Tools-> Options-> tab Other-> button
Advanced E-mail Options...

I believe you mean the /safe switch in instruction number 4.

Also, I have found that a number of folks who upgrade a previous
installation of Office/Outlook will need to create a new profile in Outlook
2003 as the old profile seems to corrupt during the upgrade. this fixes a
number of complaints I have seen in the news groups.

Tried 1, 2 & 3 and still no joy, crashes as soon as it starts up

Can't try 4 & 5 cos it crashes even in safe mode!!! ARGH!!!!!!

It had been working OK though after upgrade, and I had
been running the beta successfully too for some months.
Nothing changed till it started crashing a few days ago
and i've tried reinstalling etc etc.

the /save switch won;t work, it still crashes! :-(
