Hello

In my outlook 2003 I have contacts, I presently seem to have two ways they
my contacts are being displayed, one way which is the normal way and another
way which is incorrect for me.

For instance if you go to design mode or what ever this is how it should be
the standard way, the other way removes the form were I can add details.

can any one help I just can not see how you set the contact record or person
to display like how it should do, I expect this is a well known problem I
have spent lots of time clicking through all the view options and so on I
cant see were to do it.

I have book marked this thread PLEASE HELP IS IT SOME THING OBVIOUS I CANT
SEE IT :-)

Thank you very much for helping me!!!!

It's not clear from your message what you mean by "display like how it should." Do you mean that you don't see the picture area when you design a contact form? The new contact form layout in OL2003 and the included picture control are not available to programmers, who will see the older layout when they put an Outlook 2003 contact form into design mode. One workaround is to use an image control, as described at http://www.outlookcode.com/d/formpicture.htm#control .

For other contact form idiosyncracies, see http://www.outlookcode.com/d/contactform.htm

Hello Sue.

I will try to be more clear.

I would like to have my contacts view in the old way, I do not want to see
my contacts "in the new layout".

So to be clear I perfer the type of layout that you do see when you go into
design mode, this type of page is how I perfer my layout, this I guess is
called the old way or old layout?

Sue thank you and if there is some way I can change my contacts to all be
like this I would be ever so happy.

As said I have looked through all the options I just can not see how to do
it..

Thank you in advance.

Nigel

Hello

That is very helpfull thank you, I have made a published the default form
which is how I like it now every time I create a new contact record it is how
I want it, I am able to edit any record which is in the new way and change it
to the old display by making a simple change but I have thousands of records
is it possible to apply the new template or contact record layout to all of
my current records. The alternative is that I go through manually thousands
of records and edit each one there must be a better why? can you help?

Nigel

The page I suggested also explains how to make your form the default or to convert existing items to use your form.

I have the converse problem. I fully understan
the following
[color=blue:521b7111d9
If you modify the first page, the form will display the layout tha
you set for that page. If you do not modify the first page, Outloo
2003 will show the new contact layout for the first page, plus an
custom pages you create. [/color:521b7111d9

However I am desperate for a work around. I need to make a few edit
on the General tab and desperatly want th
new style to stick. I understand th
statement above, but do I have to accept it

Secondly- is there a way I can add different forms to the "New" dro
down list in Outlook. In other words when I click on "New" I get
list of items including one at the bottom that says "Chose Form". I
there a way I can list my custom form
[u:521b7111d9]directly[/u:521b7111d9] on that drop down list? In th
alternative can I add a shortcut to a custom form (i.e. "cntrl + R
would launch my custom form for Restaurants

Thanks

C
