I have outlook 2003 on my laptop. I want to export my contact files from Outlook 2003. Then I want to import this file into my desktop which has Outlook 2002 version. When I do this I get the following:
The file c:\ .pst is not compatible with this version of the Personal Folders information service. Contact your Administrator.

I thought importing & exporting would be compatible between the two versions of outlook. Please HELP!!

First create a new PST in Outlook 2003. Make sure that you choose the option
to create a file of type 97-2002 compatible personal folders file.

Also, if you're transferring via a CD, you must copy the PST from the CD to
the hard drive of the destination computer then right click to go to
properties and clear the read only flag.

I created the new .pst compatible w/ 07-2002. I copied my old pst to this newly created file .pst. I then tried to export the contacts and then import them to my old computer which has the 2002 outlook version. I get the same error! Please help.

How did you copy? Did you copy items? If you're copying, why did you export
and import? Pick one or the other. Either copy the items to the old format
PST and open that PST on your old computer or export the items to the old
format PST and open that PST on your old computer.

I set up the 2002 compatible .pst. Then I dragged the contacts over. I copied the .pst to the other computer. When I tried to open it up the File Data managagement - Add (then I select that .pst file) I get an error. Any ideas? The other computer is windows 2000. Mine in windows xp. Any issues with this?
