I have been using the Taskpad in the MS Outlook 2003 Calendar for
quite a while. All this time, there has been a field at the top of the
list where I could add a new task just by typing the subject.
Just this week, without my doing any Outlook updates (to my
knowledge), that has disappeared and the only way I have to add a new
task to my list is to open the entire New Task form -- which is a time-
consuming pain.
Also, at the same time, two other functions have stopped working: I
can no longer click the checkbox on a Task (in the Calendar Taskpad)
to mark it complete and I can no longer rightclick the priority column
to change the priority.
Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone have a clue what might have
happened?
I've spent at least five hours today trying various settings and
resets, searching the web for forums, searching MS Support, etc. All
MS suggests is using the full Task form. Foo.
MS did point out that if I have sorted my list by Priority, then I
cannot drag items into my own custom ordering. Gee.
My current workaround (in the last 10 minutes, suggested by another
post on this forum) is to have the Calendar and the Task List open in
separate windows. Not sweet, but at least my workflow patterns, except
morning setup, are not badly impacted -- I can still just type a task
on the list instead of having to open a whole d**m form and I can just
check things as done with a click instead of having to pick from a
rightclick popup menu.
But if I could figure out how to reset things to where they were last
week, I would be much happier. Five hours is way too much of my life
to spend tearing my hear and cursing Microsoft.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
August
P.S. This is my first time using this group and I am not at all clear
about the difference between "microsoft.public.outlook" and
"microsoft.public.outlook.general". Are there any guidelines
anywhere? The group descriptions are identical. Thanks.
