Outlook 2003 calendar displays

When I select Calendar I want to see a calendar like the one on my wall but
instead it opens to a list of all the reminders I created for birthdays,
etc. How do I get it to show my calendar and when I do, how do I get to see
the other view.

Secondly, I managed to get Outlook to default open to Outlook Today, but I
can't find a way to select from optional views. The help section says it can
be done but it can't because what I am supposed to open does not exist or is
well concealed.
 
I think you're in the wrong View of your Calendar.

Turn on Advanced toolbars - View | Toolbars check both Standard and
Advanced. Now look in the white window in the toolbar for the Current
View - it may say Day, Week, Month or By Category - there are various
Views.

To set the folder Outlook starts in Tools|Options|Other|Advanced Options|
start up in this folder - change it to the one you want.

Thank you, Judy down under!! What a relief. Now I can see my calendar the
way I want. Next question is Outlook Today. It does not exist on the
Navigation Pane as Outlook Help claims. Nor is it on the Start Menu as they
claim. What to do?
 
If you display the All Folders view in the Nav Pane, does it show as the top
level folder?

how do i know what folder is the one i want? i only use outlook for the
calendar, and i want it to open on the month view of the current month, but
instead it opens to a task and when i go to view, i have to click "calendar"
then i have to say "month" then i have to go to today's date...
