Hi All

Just got Outlook 2003 and finding it great. However I can't get the Cached
Exchange to work properly. I use Exchange 2000 so not sure if this feature
is really used with Exchange 2003 but what happens is that Outlook keeps
checking the folders but if you look closely not all emails are there, most
up to date emails in sub folders are missing. Switiching this feature off
and all the emails return.

Is this a bug or do I need Ex2003?

Cheers
Paul

You can use a cached mailbox when connecting to Exchange 5.5 through
Exchange 2003. (certain features are disabled when connecting to Exchange
5.5/2000. For example, you can't pull headers followed by the full item.)
Outside of that, Diane is correct that large mailbox can take a long time to
populate and patience is the key.

Oh I almost forgot, you can set filters and what would be cached locally.
So if you had set filters on your OST in the past, this filters can hide
items from you.

it's either a bug or impatience. if your mailbox is large it can take
some time to completely populate the offline cache.

.... we updated to OL2003 and set the switch to use cache mode. Now OL can't
find the mailbox anymore. Clearing the switch for cache mode lets the user
access their mailbox as before. What to do?

Thomas
