1) Outlook should let me to set the appearance as classic and older versions
of Outlook. The inbox items are engaging too much of the inbox pane, and this
restricts the quantity of items that can be viewed at once. The same with the
other panes (sent, etc). Outlook 2000 is far more efficient in the way that
it displays the information.

2) Outlook should let me receive any kind of file or at least, it should let
me decide which kind of file I wish to receive. Microsoft does not have the
right to decide for me.

I am already thinking to switch back to Outlook 2000, but I don't know if
even XP will let me reinstall the older product. I am sorry for microsoft.
Microsoft is becoming out of touch with users.

1) For what its worth, it took me 30 days to get used to the new interface.
However since you are really hitting the wall on "personal" preferences, you
might find some tips on
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2003/interface.htm helpful to get some of
that classic feel back.

2) Outlook 2003 can be configured to allow you access to those blocked
attachments. See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm for
more information. By the way, if you hate editing the registry, get Ken
Slovak's Attachment Options program (there is a link on the getexe.htm page
to it). The program is super easy to use and since Ken is a fellow Outlook
MVP, he is always open to ideas and will keep the product updated as
Microsoft makes changes to their software.

Outside of that, Office/Outlook 2000 runs fine under Windows XP. However, I
can't stress that you try to get used to Office/Outlook 2003. There are so
many security and feature enhancements, that it is difficult to tell anyone
to go backwards.
