This may be the dumbest question yet, but when I try and use the print
a single envelope from word using a contact from outlook, word only
finds my outlook address book when I have outlook open. When outlook
is open, I can print on envelopes from my outlook address book with no
problem, but when it is not open, it says:

"The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder
associated with this address list could not be opened; it may have been
moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on
how to remove this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft
Outlook Help."

Obviously I can open outlook each time, but I believe when I was
running OL2000 and Office 2000, this was not a problem.

Ideas?

It has always been the case that to retrieve data from Outlook it must be
open.
Why can you not open Outlook?

Pure laziness I guess...thanks for the help!

There's still something wrong with this picture. If Outlook is not open,
Word will prompt you to open an Outlook profile so it can retrieve the data.
That part is normal.
But you should not be getting that error message. That message is telling
you that whatever Outlook profile you are opening from Word does not have
the Outlook Address Book connected correctly to its data source (i.e., your
Contacts Folder). You should reconfigure your Outlook Address Book or select
a different profile.
