I just upgraded to Outlook 2003 and now I can not access
public folders on our Exchange Server. Looking at the
permissions, I'm either the owner or a publishing editor.
This is "hit or miss" in that I can get into a few
folders with the exact same permissions as the majority
that I can't open.

Initially, I had "shaken" the permissions by copying the
folder locally, deleting the public folder and copying
back the folder. I could then get back in to the folder.
However, this only held for a week or so and now I lost
access again. My admin says everything is fine on the
Exchange side.

(I'm using Cached Exchange Mode if that matters.)Any
ideas?

I have run into this same issue. A workaround was suggested to me and
appears to work.

You said you are using Cached mode. Make sure you have the check box
for "download public folder favorites" checked. Then add any public
folder you want to view to the public folder favorites. You can then
view them from that location.

I don't think this is a very good solution but until one is found,
that should at least get to the point of viewing them. Hopefully an
actual fix will come out soon.

Good luck!

After an upgrade I was not able to see the Public Folders.

So, I click on "Go" on the toolbar and select Folder List, then the
Public Folders show up.

I found the way to do it. In the Folder List view, expand the Public folders tab. Select the folder that you want to be seen. Right click on it and select to add to Favorites. You will notice a Favorites folder shows up in Public folders. If you open that folder and right click on the contact or calendar, you can select to add to calendars or contacts or notes or whatever type of file it is. Hope this works.
