Sodo_mojo said:Unfortunately our organization just upgraded to OFFICE XP, we can not
afford the cost to move completely to OFFICE 2003, we are being asked to
move to OUTLOOK 2003 by the EXCHANGE Administers.
So, we must look at solutions and workarounds.
Thanks for y our input.

Anyway around set choice of Word 2003?
CITCG Consultant said:This is unacceptable. My client rolled out MS SBS 2003 to their
organizations, and nowhere was it noted that they would also have to
upgrade
all their users from Office 2002 to Office 2003 in order to use Word as
the
editor for the pushed Outlook 2003 that is included in SBS 2003. This is
nothing more than a backhanded move by Microsoft to force more un-needed
upgrades on their customers.

ORK (among other documents) is very clear that Word 2003 is required if you

It worked like this with Outlook 2002 and Word 2000, so it's not like it was
something new from Microsoft.

I can not set my Outlook to use Word 2002 as editor?
Anyway around set choice of Word 2003?
CITCG Consultant said:Does this look like an upgrade to to Word 2003 is required?
"Because Microsoft® Office Outlook® 2003 is compatible with earlier versions
of Outlook, upgrading to a new version of Outlook typically involves no more
than preparing for, and distributing, the client. If you are upgrading from
other Microsoft e-mail and scheduling clients, the process is simplified with
the use of the import feature in Outlook."
When the customer was sold on the upgrade to SBS 2003, Outlook 2003 feature
integrations were heavily marketed. Needing to upgrade a one year old product
(Word 2002) was nowhere to be seen.
It's should be obvious by the many postings to this and other forums that a
large number of companies continue to be mislead.
