am using outlook 2002,, after a recent pst file crash i reset outlook by
making a new pst file which works fine

the problem is the adddress good,, when i click on address book no contacts
are listed,, to get the contacts list i have to click on the address book,,
got into tools and select one of the 5 contact books listed, have tried
clicking on remove to get rid of any empty address books but although they go
off the list initially when i go back in they are still their

how do i get rid of all the "dead" address books

Just remove the invalid entries here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change.

lol of course ....thanks,,,, talk about overlooking the obvious

thanks for your help

Actually, it's not very obvious. That's why few users find it on their own
and it's one of the most frequently asked questions here.
