I purchased a new laptop. I installed Office XP on the new laptop. I used
Windows File and Settings Transfer wizard to transfer my Outlook profile
information.

I use two programs which sychonize information with Outlook. One is Palm
Desktop. The other is Timeslips by Intuit. When Palm attempts to sychonize,
it receives an error that immediately stops sychrnoization (OLERR). Because
Timeslips does not show an error log, I can only assume by the behavior of
the software that it's sychronization is also prohibited by the same problem.

I tried to copy the .pst file from my new computer and try it on a computer
where Outlook is properly sychronizing. There were no problems.

I believe the problem is with the setup of my Outlook. Perhaps the folder
settings need to be changed to allow outside access. I would really
appreciate a fix for this. My guess is that it is something simple. Thanks.

If I were in your shoes, I'd create a new mail profile.

Thanks for you note. However, that doesn't work. I have also made a number
of changes and have tons of client information which I can't loose in Outlook.

Creating a new mail profile does nothing. I've completely uninstalled
Office, deleted the registry keys and reinstalled a clean version, created a
new profile -- and the problem still exists.

This is part of a number of problems. Word cannot open outlook to send
emails, Contact profiles cannot link with Calendar functions.

I think the problem was caused because a trial versioni of Office 2003 (I
own and use Office 2002) was installed on my laptop. My determination is
that the problems with the sychonozatoin have to do only with the Outlook
installation and not the .pst. The .pst is completely fine.

I know there is a simple solution to there. If there is someone competent
to fix this in Dallas, Texas, I will hire them to do so.

Creating a new mail profile will not affect your existing data in any way.

If you completely ripped out all Office 2003 keys in the registry, then I
don't know how this would be a factor, but try using System Restore to go
back to a date prior to the installation of the trial version.

The trial version of Office 2003 was installed on the new computer before I
bought it. It's possible that by upgrading ot Office 2003 the problems might
be solve... but I think thats a bogus.

I've put out a post for someone competent in this stuff to fix it for money.
So far no takers.
