I recently upgraded from SP2 to SP3 and now I'm getting
the Outlook message: "A program is trying to access email
addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to
allow this?" Initially, I thought I knew which
application it was/is. Now, I'm not sure. How can I
determine which one? Or, how can I turn it off either
globally or by application (preferred)?

TIA,
Tom

It's a known issue with SP3; security has been updated to more closely match
the security in Outlook 2003. You may be able to get around the problem by
either disabling Word as your e-mail editor or updating some of your
add-ins, especially virus scanners and spam filters (many major
manufacturers have already released compatible updates). See the following
articles for more information:

Hence, it appears I can't determine which application is
causing the message, correct? ALso, I tried disabling
Word as my email editor and it didn't change things. I
don't use a laptop based SPAM filter and my McAfee is
totally up to date.
Other ideas or if MS will provide an ability to turn the
switch off and still maintain security?
TIA,
Tom

I only know what is in the articles I pointed you to...sorry I don't have
any further information. You're correct, there is currently no way of
singling out which exact application is bringing up the message.
