I am using outlook 2002 running under windows xp pro. I noticed that
once i create emails to send, they often sit in the outbox and do not
get sent immediately. Sometimes they send right away. And sometimes when
I place new email into "outbox", another email sitting there gets sent
instead.

How can, or can i, set the outlook email to send immediately once it is
in outbox?

The first thing to check would be:
You can configure Outlook to send the message immediately:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Mail Setup tab, in the Send/Receive box, click to select the Send
immediately when connected check box, and then click OK.

If you still have the same problem I would test by creating a new Outlook
profile with a new Personal Folder File (.pst) and setup your e-mail
account and test. If the problem does not occur in the new profile and .pst
file then simply import your data from the old .pst file and test. If the
problem returns after importing the old data then you will probably want to
create a new .pst file and not import the old data because it may be
corrupt.

I hope this information is helpful.
